The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 喜欢里面很多个人物设定。其实有没有发觉？虽然情节很低幼，总有一个很硬的内核做剧情支撑。一个在叛逆期的敏感女孩，一次重拾家庭关系的旅行，亲情和爱。

其实看到东木这位91岁的老牛仔依然是活跃在大银幕上已经足够让我感动了，本片是延续《完美的世界》的公路片模式，但是把情节进一步简单化，没有强烈的冲突，只有一位迟暮的老驯马师对一个小屁孩的人生教诲，也是献给自己的一个童话。边境风光很美，配乐很动人，雄鸡也很上镜，一切都那么简单质朴。（7/10）

本片是克林特伊斯特伍德罕見的失手之作，從情節設置來看，有點像老年版本《完美的世界》，並利用伊斯特伍德的過氣牛仔身份，試圖營造一種英雄遲暮，捲土重來的現象。只是該片根據七十年代的小說改編，已經不存在太多新意，而伊斯特伍德的導演手法也未能彌補如此蒼白的流水賬式敘事，甚至有一種無力感。而且伊斯特伍德一如既往輸出自己的雄性魅力，讓人不禁懷疑此片僅僅只是為了滿足他的那種大男人式自戀情懷而拍攝的。
